Impact Johnson committed two turnovers for the second time this season, the other instance occurring in Week 4 at BYU. The outcomes in both of those games didn't bode well for the Wildcats. The most surprising stat was that Johnson managed just 18 rushing yards against Houston. Johnson entered the season with a lot of dual-threat hype, however, he's averaged just 43.4 rushing yards per game and has just four scores on the ground. Kansas State is on a bye before playing Arizona State.

All four of those scores in the run-game have occurred over the last four weeks. Johnson has been above average as a passer this year with 16 touchdowns compared to five interceptions. It's clear that Kansas State is one of the best teams in the Big 12 Conference and they'll continue their run versus a bad Houston team next week.

Johnson is completing 62.4 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. The Wildcats have an in-state showdown with Kansas next week.

Impact Johnson threw multiple interceptions for the first time in his career and the Wildcats failed to score a touchdown for the first time since 2020. To say it was a tough night for Johnson and the team is an understatement. Kansas State is 0-4 in Provo, Utah, so maybe it's just a tough place for them to play. The silver lining is that Johnson had double-digit rushing attempts for the second week in a row. He should have room to run next week as well when they play Oklahoma State at home.

Impact Johnson has a pair of touchdown passes in each of his first two starts for the 2024 season. Kansas State needed some steady play from their starting quarterback as they fought from behind against the Green Wave. Johnson delivered as he didn't have that mistake like he did in the first game with an interception. On the ground, he's rushed a combined seven times for 77 yards. Expect Johnson to have that breakout rushing performance at some point and it could even come as early as next week against Arizona.
