Blows save chance Tuesday Treinen blew a save in Tuesday's loss to the Padres, allowing two runs on two hits while also striking out two over an inning of work. Impact Treinen was given the ball for the ninth inning with the Dodgers up 5-3 and could not convert. He allowed a first-pitch home run to Manny Machado before Jackson Merrill knotted things up with a home run of his own two batters later. Prior to his last two outings, Treinen had not given up an earned run the entire month of July spanning over 10 appearances, but he's now surrendered three runs on three homers over his last two appearances. The Dodgers' bullpen has been a mess in July, with four different pitchers garnering saves, as manager Dave Roberts has yet to figure out a permanent solution for their closer role. Treinen would've been the fifth reliever this month to record a save had he been able to convert. Still, the 35-year-old has posted good numbers overall with a 2.86 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 37:9 K:BB in 28.1 innings.
